Where it started

Animals have been part of my life since childhood, and working with them was the natural direction to take.

My first hands-on experience came during high school, on a voluntary placement at Farmer Parr's. I helped with the day-to-day care of the animals there: feeding, mucking out and handling.

By fifteen I had bought my first horse, so I spent most of my time outside school at the yard. I worked at several stables over the years that followed, building up practical experience and learning to handle animals, read their behaviour and recognise when something isn't right.

I went on to study Animal Science at college, which built on that practical experience and developed my understanding of animal behaviour, welfare, health and care.

Since then I have worked with animals across farms, stables, kennels and other people's homes. In 2022 I turned what I had been doing for years into a full-time business, and Bark Brigade Pet Services started.

Bark Brigade today

Every animal deserves individual care, so I don't run the same routine for every pet. I take the time to learn each one's routine, personality and needs.

That might mean giving a nervous dog the time and space they need, adapting a walk to suit an older dog, keeping to a specific routine, or giving medication as prescribed.

Leaving your pets in someone else's care is a big decision, so I put communication and reliability first. I provide updates and photos during bookings, so you can see how your pets are getting on while you are away.

I am fully insured, DBS checked and dog first aid trained, with practical experience caring for animals across a range of settings.

Outside Bark Brigade I volunteer with Homeward Bound, a local charity that reunites missing animals with their owners, dogs and cats included.

Animals have been the constant through my life, and Bark Brigade is what I have built from that.
